We need to be realistic. We have become habitual of making Musharraf an scapegoat for every problem which is wrong. In fact, right from our inception we have been deceitful to even our ownselves. We wrongly and willfully chanted the slogan of Pakistan kaa matlab kia, La Ilaha Ill ALLAH but we committed every wrong in our country. All social vices and evils, one could name around including justice were scarce in Pakistan right from the beginning. Poor were kept deprived and feudals and usurpers of power had free hand in the affairs of Pakistan. It was social injustice which lead to the separation of East Pakistan. We sowed the seeds of quota system. We, willfully divided Pakistanis among factions. We closed our eyes from religious fanaticism right from the beginning. Our main culprit was the policy adopted by Zia ul Haque which was the touchstone of destruction of Pakistan. Our corrupt and inefficient politicians, our power hungry and superiority complex headed defenders continued damaging the edifice of Pakistan. There are very few countries in the world where extremely corrupt people like Zardaris, Gilanis, Rajas and who not, were given free hand to loot and plunder without any accountability and if at all it was, it was sham accountability. We talk about the damage inflicted by Musharraf which he did but we ignore the good he achieved. He kept economy stable during his time. Masses didn’t suffer like they are suffering since he is gone. Nawaz Sharif hasn’t even been able to control the price of staple food of masses, i.e. flour. We blame Musharraf for Lal Mosque incident and are trying him but that Moulana Abdul Aziz who was partner in harboring terrorists in mosque and who rebelled against the state has been given a free hand and has become an honorable person. Isn’t this sheer hypocrisy?
On the other hand, we as general public are immersed to neck in every possible vice. We totally negate Islam which isn’t limited to fasting, prayer, zakat and hajj but which is a practical religion. Haven’t we violated every moral and Islamic principle so blatantly. We are dishonest, inefficient, irregular, adulterer, cruel, cheater, usurper, fraud, corrupt, shameless and what not. We are not sincere to our own selves. Can we find such examples anywhere else in the world? There are social vices in many societies in the world but not like us who have every possible vice in the world in us in plenty. We don’t shrug for a moment while adulterating in medicines and food. We kill people for petty gains. Our guardians knowingly help smugglers of weapons and narcotics to spread them around for petty gains. Our Panchayats of 400 people award punishment of rape to the sister of the culprit who at the age of 10 would be guilty of so-called seduction of the other clan’s daughter. Thats our social justice. Whey sky won’t burst and why earth won’t give in?
In nutshell, every one of us is contributing to the load of vices and sins. If Allah has given us so much DHEEL, its because He promised for that. Otherwise, an earthquake, a storm, a wind could be enough for our elimination. Unless, we seek collective pardon and perform a genuine and real TAUBA, Allah Taala won’t be merciful.
