Please read Col. Ashfaq Hussain’s "Fateh Saboona”. Its a brief biography of Shabbir Shareef Shaheed in urdu language which covers his life from his childhood to martyrdom. After reading your coloum, I think you mixed two incidents of his life with each other. Shabbir Shareef injured so many times in his life as he was known as rash driver among his fellas. the seniority incident happened at 1964 – 1965 just before 1965 war and his 6 months junior friend Khalid Adnan got promoted as captain and he remained lieutenant because of it. he again injured on parajumping course but not in road accident rather got minor injury on his ankle during the fourth jump of the course. so by book its dangerous to jump further if you are not 100 percent fit thats why he came to TM and insisted for his last jump to get his wing.
